Medical Behavioral Services The Medical Behavioral
Services Program at Jewish Memorial Hospital is designed to meet the physical
and psychological needs of patients with dementia, or psychiatric disorders
who need hospitalization for medical problems. We serve patients with a wide
range of disorders, including those complicated by medical or neurological
problems. Our intensive program of activities and groups encourages patients
to regain their previous skills and independence in a setting compatible with
their present physical abilities. Our psychiatrists,
neurologists, attending physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses,
social worker, and case managers will develop a comprehensive individualized
treatment plan for every patient upon admission, with an emphasis on
providing the patient every opportunity to function as independently as
possible in activities of daily living. A treatment goal is set for the
patient to live in the least restrictive environment, including discharge
with the most appropriate community support services. Care, treatment, and
our staff in collaboration with occupational therapy, social services, and
therapeutic programming provides rehabilitation. |
